EVOX Images, a world leader in high-quality automotive stock photography, 360-degree automotive imaging, and global build-to-order automotive content solutions, today unveiled RelayCars 5.0, a mobile app positioned as the first portal for truck shoppers to research and compare models.

Accessible in the Oculus Samsung Gear VR™ Store, the new app is also available in Google Cardboard™ for Android users and will soon be offered for Apple iOS.  Equipped with dynamic content uploads and other features to provide the ultimate car viewing experience, RelayCars 5.0 provides a first-hand look inside truck models from the entire EVOX VR library.  The result is the most expansive selection of vehicles ever presented to VR users.

The RelayCars portal provides a truly immersive, non-gaming, automotive VR experience. At over 115 trucks and growing weekly, the app’s new “Truck Portal” lets users dynamically import any truck from EVOX’s extensive VR automotive library, and explore inside and outside the vehicle in full 360-degree stereo. It also lets car shoppers and enthusiasts explore a range of vehicles—from exotics to muscle cars—in virtual showrooms; watch informational videos on select vehicles in the virtual cinema; and take virtual test rides in the open desert or along the coast.

Changing the way car-shoppers experience automobiles since its inception in 1995, EVOX utilizes its industry-leading 360-degree imaging—which it supplies to more than 20,000 dealer websites and the top automotive websites—to power its new virtual reality technology. To date, the RelayCars app has generated over 720,000 downloads, a significant total for a non-gaming app.
